Competitions

All entries must be previously unreleased and will be spread in public after the party. In case there are very few entries in a compo there will be a merge with some closely related compo. The winners in each compo will get some kind of prize yet to be decided.

You can participate in the demo, graphics and wild compos without being present at the party. Send your remote entries to gerpparty@gmail.com before 15.00 CEST on saturday the 2nd of february. Please note that we have decided to leave remote entries out of the music compos this year.

The following machines will be supplied for the competitions, if your platform of choice is not listed below you are very welcome to bring it yourself and run your compo entry on it.

  • Amiga 1200, Blizzard 1260-50MHz, 64 mb fast, OS 3.1.
  • Amiga 500, 512 kb memory expansion.
  • Commodore 64 (8580), 1541-II diskdrive, Action Replay 6.
  • MSX2, 128 kb ram, 128 kb vram.

Amiga Demo

  • Should be compatible with either of the Amiga compo machines (see above)
  • No filesize limit (but keep it reasonable)

Other Platform Demo

  • Any oldschool platform (for modern stuff see 'Wild' below)
  • Bring your own machine to run the demo if it's not C64 or MSX2 (running the demo in an emulator should be the very last resort).

Wild

  • Basically anything that can run on a computer
  • PC demos, animations, games etc.

Amiga four channel music

  • Any Amiga four channel tracker format
  • Max file size is 2MB
  • Will be played in an appropriate tracker with the pattern data rolling
  • Max playtime is 4 minutes

Chip music

  • Modules and executables for your oldschool machines
  • Modules will be played on Amiga, for other platforms the entry must be an executable file
  • Max four channels for modules
  • The screen (tracker or replayer) will be shown while playing the tune
  • Max file size is 32KB
  • Max playtime is 4 minutes

Cover music

  • Must be a cover of a song by someone else than yourself
  • Don't use any audio material from the original song or other covers of that song
  • State the name of the original song somehow (samplelist, readme, replayer-scroll...)
  • Any audioformat and platform (includning mod, exe, mp3 etc.)
  • No filesize limit
  • Max playtime is 4 minutes
  • (A recommendation: be a bit creative when deciding what song to cover, you are not guaranteed to win by picking "Stardust Memories")

  • Max number of colors is 256
  • You might be asked to provide some workstages

AMOS Professional showdown

  • Knockout tournament with eight participants (four quarterfinals, two semi finals and one final)

  • Each round lasts for 15 minutes and then the crowd votes for the best visual result
