Nature and Traktor once again invite you to Gerp, the traditional demoparty held in Skövde/Sweden. The party goes on from the 2nd to the 4th of february 2018 at Skövde culture centre (in the hall named 'Freja'). The party has a focus on the oldschool platforms and historically it has especially been a stronghold for the Amiga demoscene, hence the Amiga focus when it comes to compos. The entrance fee is 150 SEK or 200 SEK depending on if you pay before or at the party and there will be room for about 100 people.
Since the partyplace is located in the middle of town you will find hotels, restaurants, bars, supermarket etc all within a few minutes of walking. The closest hotels are located just around the corner and the railroad/bus station is right across the street.
The street address is 'Trädgårdsgatan 9'. Once you arrive at the culture centre look for the entrance towards 'Freja', located at the north-east side of the building. At the map below we've marked out the party location along with other good-to-know locations.
There will be a free breakfast served on both saturday and sunday morning. The breakfast will consist of a few sorts of bread and some spread plus milk and juice. The breakfast time somewhat depends on when people wake up. There will also be free coffee during the weekend. There will be beer sold at the party and this is something we will arrange together with the restaurant that is located in the same building as the party. While this should be considered a nice feature it also has the downside that you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol inside (yup, that's the law).
As with any true demoparty you can sleep at the party (bring your inflatable matress!). If you're getting rusty and rather sleep at a hotel we supply some links for you at the bottom of this page. Showers will most likely be available at the party during certain hours, however this can't be guaranteed.
We are holding a whole bunch of compos for you to participate in and as usual at Gerp there will also be surprise compos announced during the party. For those who can't make it in person we also accept remote entries (except for the music compos) sent in by e-mail (gerpparty@gmail.com). However, we would rather see you present at the party so go sign up right away!

Travel
If you are going by car you should point your GPS towards 'Trädgårdsgatan 9' in Skövde or find driving directions for how to get there. Since the parking space marked with 8 on the map have vanished the best parking solution nearby if you want to avoid hassle with moving the car during certain hours is to park the car by the train station (9). The cost is 99 SEK for 24 hours. The closest parking space (10) has a limit of max two hours parking during pay time (10-18 friday, 10-15 saturday and sunday) and the cost for these hours are 10 SEK for the first hour and 20 SEK for the second hour. While unloading your gear you can also park your car along the road outside the railroad station (2). If you don't want to pay for parking and don't mind parking a bit further away you can unload your gear and then park your car for free at Arena Skövde a 10-15 minutes walk from the partyplace. If you want to go by train or bus just make sure that your end destination is 'Skövde Resecentrum'. Cross the street and head for the entrance shown in the picture below.
